Nasum - "Human 2.0" REVIEW
As a general rule, I don't listen to grindcore. I don't own a worn-out tape of Scum, I haven't Descanted the Insalubrious, I didn't cry at the Truth's wake. Most of the time, grind just doesn't do it for me. But when I'm pissed at the world.when things are bleak and frustrating and nothing, nothing, nothing can be done to change it except to wait in ever-mounting frustration for life to cut me a break, then this - THIS I like. Blistering blasts surrounded by a smoke of guitar and bass riffs pour out of the speakers under throaty screams. Nasum's songs are mercifully short executions. There's no evil mastermind tormenting his victims with lengthy dialogues about how he loves the irony of his chosen method for their extermination before he pulls the switch and gives them opportunity to escape. No. This is mafia-style killing. Grab the mark, throw him down a dark alley, pull out the gun, POP. Bullet straight to the head before he can even begin to whimper. While you slump over dying, Nasum are turning their back and walking out into the light. |
